plant overhead, underground, or man-hole cables used in telephone and MDU
CATV applications. Some duties involved were climbing utility poles or
towers, utilizing truck-mounted lift bucket, or descends into sewers and
underground vaults where cables are located. Cutting lead sheath to gain
access to defective cable connections. Installing cables and conductors and
preparing to splice (copper or fiber). Test (trace or phase-out) each
conductor to identify corresponding conductors in adjoining cable sections
according to diagrams and specifications. Clean, trim, and splice
corresponding conductors. Cover conductors with insulating or fireproofing
materials. Locate and repair leaks in pressurized cable.
